This semester I am studying organic chemistry 1, which is a course taught by several professors, some hold seminars (hours of practice) and others hold professorships. Those who hold professorships rotate according to the subject they know the most about. The objective is to teach each subject in the best possible way. This course is quite demanding, you have to exercise a lot and pay attention to details, because the content is dense, but once you understand it becomes easier.
This course aims to teach basic concepts of organic chemistry. This course covers nomenclature of organic compounds, stereochemistry, isomerism, types of organic reactions, alkanes, alkenes, among others. As a consequence it allows to relate the structure of a compound with its nomenclature, to analyze the types of reactions considering even the intermediates and their characteristics, to identify estreoisomeric molecules, among other knowledge.
What I like about organic chemistry 1 is that despite being difficult and dense, as I said before, it is almost magical for me, it is very interesting to see how organic molecules function, how they are ordered and with the logic with which they function, it is magical to think that organic compounds are the basis of biology and how living beings function, I like this branch because it gives me that first look at this world.
OMG organic chemistry is also among the Subjects that I like the most!
ResponderEliminarIt is very interesting, but complicated :(
Hi Javiera, I took that subject last semester and I also found it very interesting and it entertained me to do exercises, it has its difficulty like everyone else but I enjoyed it
ResponderEliminarorganic chemistry 1 has been one of the most difficult courses for me :c . It's very complicated and confusing but I'm glad someone likes it.
ResponderEliminarHi Javiera, Organic Chemistry is very fun, when I had to teach this subject I really liked drawing different molecules, but it’s true that it’s very demanding.
